Chris Doerfler is an Honors graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, a top 25 school, where he focused his studies on litigation, including criminal law, criminal trial, appeals, personal injury law and business litigation issues. Before founding The Doerfler Law Firm, he spent five years as a Maricopa County Public Defender, where he handled in excess of 500 cases. Then, he spent five years at the major Phoenix law firm of Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, where he founded the firm's White Collar Crime and Special Matters group, and was involved in several noteworthy cases, including the Jim Irving Impeachment investigation, the Lewis Prison grand jury investigation, pre-indictment defenses of major businesses, the defense of high profile cases involving prominent businessmen, public officials and athletes, the freeway-cable barrier litigation. Mr. Doerfler has made television appearances on behalf of his clients and routinely interacts with local press outlets. Mr. Doerfler is a teacher of criminal law and trial advocacy to both students and lawyers. He has lectured on a wide variety of topics, including the interaction between the criminal law and the civil law, criminal trial advocacy and education law topics. He is a strong believer in making trial as entertaining and polished for jurors as possible, because engaged jurors are more likely to vote in favor of his clients. He has even gone so far as to script and shot a short film to convey his message to his audience. Mr. Doerfler is a member of Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice, the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is admitted to practice law in Arizona and Wisconsin state courts and the U.S. Courts of Appeals, Seventh and Ninth Circuits.
